Kagawa Prefecture will be showcasing some of its leading food and drink products in London this winter. Located in the north of Shikoku, one of Japan's four main islands, Kagawa Prefecture is known for being a ‘foodie' area, and boasts many local specialties including Sanuki Udon, a regional variety of the thick, hearty wheat noodles which have more bite and are smoother than other kinds. The Kawaga Industry Support Foundation and Kagawa Prefecture have launched an overseas promotional campaign that will see items produced in Kagawa sold in stores in London and Paris from late September onwards. In London, a total of 31 products from 11 companies will be available from ATARI-YA FOODS until the end of December 2010, including Sanuki Udon, locally brewed sake, soy sauce and black sesame paste. |
